On Thursday, January 8, the Publications team interviewed Mrs. Bales (Vice Principal). We asked her a series of questions about her responsibilities, her work day, and what advice she would give to future students and teachers.
A Vice Principal plays a major role in keeping the school running smoothly, managing everything from student discipline to staff support. A typical day is fast-paced, unexpected, and full of responsibility. When asked, what are your main responsibilities, Mrs. Bales stated, “I do a lot of supervision. I talk to kids about grades, how things are going, social life, struggles, wins, successes. I follow sports, make sure all sports are in order, and I do a lot of meetings with parents and teachers.” As you can see Mrs. Bales is very caring to the people around her and brings joy to everyone.
Mrs. Bales is very inspirational and dedicated to student success. She helps kids be their best in any way possible. Upon being asked, what qualities do successful students have Mrs. Bales replied with, “A really successful student can advocate for themselves. They don't have to be perfect, they don't have to be really smart, or super organized all the time. They don't need to know what's happening all the time but they need to know how to ask for help.” Mrs. Bales works hard throughout the day dealing with any tough situation that pops up. Mrs. Bales is a well loved person in this school. In response to what advice would you give someone who wants to work in education, she replied with “I would say just do it. Make sure you're getting into it for the right reasons, and try to figure out your way.” In summary, Mrs. Bales supports students and teachers alike, helping create an environment where everyone can succeed.
